With winter coming fast and the kids being in the house more... I have been thinking of how to set up play dates.. or are they even a good idea? I don't want her to forget what it's like to socialize with other children over winter! I would like to have some kind of scheduled thing for my daughter to look foward to in the winter (besides snow days hehe)! I only know a couple other moms with kids my girls age.. and Meika generally gets along better with 4 or 5 year olds then other 3 year olds! I thought of things like Playtime, but alot of time I find other kids there don't wanna make "new friends" and she ends up playing alone, I do go in, but I want her to interact with other kids!  
 
I wonder how to go about this? How do you know if you can trust the person when it's your childs turn to go to their house? I guess you would meet the other mother first and have a chat and decide if you trust one another(awkward)? How do you find someone who wants playdates.. with an add ,networking ect?  
 
Or are there other things to do in Brandon where you can go meet other moms and toddlers??? I know the elspeth reid center has classes and stuff...I wonder what might be there?  
 
I'm not even sure this is a good idea...  
So just curious here....  
 
Anyone with experince on this..  
Or maybe know of other fun things to do in the winter besides basic outdoor winter activities (lets face it more often then not here in Manitoba, with our winters, playing outside everyday in not an option )?
