Is there a double standard?
2/12/2009 at 11:27 AM
I didnt want to post this in the octuplets thread, although it has to do with that. But just remembering what happened in the past with MB housing threads and peoples opinions on that and this. There are some obviously similarities in the situaitons (minus that no one in brandon has had octuplets lol) But we seem to have a double standard from what I can see? People saying that she should have been financially capable to raise the kids on her own before she had them and that now she should have them taken away, etc... Just curious how that is viewed as different than some one recieving assistance having chidren? (not bashing those who are on assistance, if you need it thats why that program is there and you should use it) If we view her as she should have the kids taken away cause she's a single mom with a lot of kids to begin with and then adds more, while already recieving assistance. how is that different that what some are doing here in brandon? Really not looking to start a debate, but actually curious as to why people feel so strongly to the octuplets mom's situation and not to others?
