Teething baby!

I'm just curious to other peoples experiences. My child has been so close to breaking her first tooth. She's been teething bad for almost 2 weeks. I could feel a bump. But now I can see the white. But it's still not through the gums. How long does it take to break through? I know it's different for every baby, but it's been so close for 4 days now!
Also there isn't anything that I have tried that works for her pain. So any suggestions are welcome.
