Bubble wrap...protecting our children

The phrase 'bubble wrap' when referring to how we want to protect our children has been prevalent in the eBrandon conversations.
Like a savage beast, I'm sure we'd protect our own. Yet we can't protect our children from all of life's experiences. When it's painful we can console, when confusing, we can offer advice... we protect.
I'm saying I'm aware of protecting our children...yet I've always given my children their own minds, at times with my guidance, at times with the consequence of their decisions.
If 'bubble wrapping' our children is a present day preference I would have to say that I'm convinced that we learn as we live... no matter our age.
