So a Georgia man was charged with felony cruelty to children after he slapped a toddler at a suburban Atlanta Wal-Mart. 61-year-old Roger Stephens reportedly told Sonya Mathews that if she didn't stop her two-year-old from crying, he would "shut her up for you." A short time later in another aisle, Stephens made good on his promise - slapping the child four or five times across the face, and then telling Mathews, "See, I told you I would shut her up." Stephens was held until police arrived, who made good on their threat to lock Stephens up. He's currently being held without bond at the Gwinnett County Detention Center.
