I have just taken my kids down the the small park in between Westaway Bay and Westbrook Bay, and i am appalled. What has happened to this park?? I can remember going there when i was younger and then taking my nephew there years later, and it was no where near the condition it is now! The teeter totters are missing handles, and god forbid you slide on one the wrong way, you would end up with splinters. The paint has worn off all of the structures, and is littered with beer bottle caps and garbage, and anywhere that there was sand, is now a wonderful weed garden. Now i know that the city can't fix everything all the time, but my gosh. There are city trash cans there, that the obviously have to come by and check as they are chained to the fence. Why has no one reported this before and made it safe for children again? This is absolutely disgusting!!! I am going to be starting, (hopefully) a community volunteer date to bring back the park and am looking for ideas / input. Thank you!
