I had suggested that a single teenage mom consider putting her child up for adoption and basically got called ignorant and insensitive. Why?  
Why is adoption such a bad option and why does it need to be hidden. I adopted our little girl and I know for a fact that the reason she was offered to us for adoption was that the single teen mother loved this child so much and saw the kind of life she was able to offer to this child and chose a better life for her baby. Her family blasted her for it and called her uncaring and that she didn't love her baby. Nothing can be further than the truth.  
Why should a young mother be ashamed of giving her child a chance at a future that she would not be able to provide at this time? An unplanned pregnancy should not mean an end to their education or their life.  
Adoption is a viable alternative to abortion, welfare, or abandoning your child in a dumpster.  
Many teen mothers make it but many do not. I have seen many that need time to grow before being a mother.  
Why is adoption a bad word?
