Does anyone know if Brandon lets your toddlers stay in hospital while you are having a baby  

Nope....no kids on the ward after 8 pm.  
 
I could imagine in an emergency situation they have provisions for this kind of stuff, but not just a typical birth.  
We know people who happened to have their kids with them, they couldn't make it to the babysitter and back to the hospital, the baby was born as they pulled up to the hospital doors, and of course their other kids were with them and taken care of until all could get settled.

Or sorry, did you mean that you wanted your toddler just present at the birth? Should have asked before assuming.

Yes as I have no one to look after her except my husband  

The toddler can certainly visit but I don't believe they're allowed to stay over night. Best bet would for your husband to go home for the night with your oldest.. I'm not sure if they are allowed in the room during delivery?? Someone else would have to clarify that. Could you find a babysitter? There are some reputable ones out there I could point you in the right direction.

Who will be looking after your child while you are delivering? If they can't keep your child over night, just have your husband go home at night with her. How do you plan on handling things if you deliver in the middle of the night?  
Lots to think about and plan for when you have other children at home while expecting a baby.  

The only person we had to watch my son was my dad who lives out of town.Before I got to the hospital we called him. We had NO other options than to keep my son with us until my dad arrived... The nurses were EXTREMELY RUDE... It was awful. I felt ashamed of our maternity nurses. They made the whole experience much more stressful, even after we said we had someone on the way.. I strongly suggest finding someone to watch your toddler, they won't understand even under emergency cases... My husband went home after the birth and stayed with my son while me and baby rested.... I understand policy, but I mean....sometimes situations don't go as planned....

Oh I didn't have good experience first time And I didn't even have a child with me. The nurses were rude. And they would keep sending me in and out of hospital as I was trying to be induced, I have also been thinking of not even having baby in Brandon again but undecided  

I don't know your husband's situation... perhaps he's a trucker and out of town all the time... but if he's not, then tell him to be a dad, take the kid, and let you have a baby and recover for at least the night.  
 
Kinda confused, and like I said, I don't know your situation, but there is no doubt in my mind that you do not want your child at the birth, and (trust me) they do not want to be there - seeing their mother screaming in pain. They will most likely cry and scream too, and make the whole situation worse.

But i`d say its not about him not wanting to be a dad, but both of them wanting him to be present at the birth of their child, and to support the mom through labour and delivery.  
 
Try find a sitter in Brandon, ask everyone reliable you know. Our sitter fell through for our last birth and we had to get his male friends wife to babysit for us during delivery. It was hard for me since I did not know her that well, but she had a home daycare so was trustworthy. It can be stressful, but do what you have to do, dont be shy to ask for help with sitters. I was induced also and it took 2 days, so dad would be with the other kids while nothing exciting was going on lol

I wouldn't have them at the delivery it would probably scare a young child that doesn't fully understand whats going on. Also who knows how long it will take.  
 
We have no family in town but would have friends that our DD could go to. You must know someone, a friend, Neighbour, someone you work with. If not maybe msg some of the home based daycares on ebrandon to see if anyone of them can help you out. Or check out the Facebook page "Brandon MB & area Childcare" and post what your looking for explaining your situation and needs.

Have you considered having a doula as part of your support team? There is a wonderful group of them in Brandon , they may even have childcare suggestions.  
 
Maybe since you had a rough experience in L&D with staff you could try a midwife appointment.

Do you have any neighbours that you have gotten to know and become friendly with? You could always sit down and discuss the situation with them, if you believe they are trustworthy.  

why ppl think its not good for children to be at births. Not too many years ago all babies were born at home and older children were around. Its too bad children aren't allowed at the hospital. But im wondering if the op was thinking more on the lines of after the birth. If you have no alternative care then the father may not be able to go to work.

Family4ever your situation sounds difficult and I sympathize but what if every second family felt that way you did? A birth isn't really an emergency situation - you generally have 9 months of notice before you deliver. Sure you might not know the exact day/time you will go into labour but you do have time to get multiple plans into place. I kind of don't blame the nurses who have rules then have to deal with entitled people who think it's okay to break them "because it's an emergency". Rules are in place for a reason. Just my opinion!

I completely understand your concern. My husband is military and we often move around. Choosing not to live on base, it's harder to make lifelong friends and I certainly wouldn't just let anyone look after my kids. My youngest 2 are 2 and 3 and they were both born at home which was super easy on both myself and my husband. As long as you have a healthy pregnancy then there's no reason for a home birth to be concerning. It's also a lot more stress free and relaxing in my opinion. I have 3 kids and my oldest was born in a hospital... I did not have a good experience! If you would like any info about it feel free to message me!
