Hi, I am closing my daycare for a maternity leave and am curious for when I re Open if there are a lot of parents out there needing an earlier start time?  
 
If so what time? But with an earlier start time I would close earlier say between 3:30-4:30 I will only operate at most 9hrs so say 6-3, 6:30-3:30. 7-4, 730-430.  
 
Im just wanting to know if there is a demand for those hours rather then the 8-5

The hours would need to be extended an extra hour. Most people work for 8 hours a day for example drop child off at 7:30 drive across town to be at work for 8:00, work until 5 and drive back to pick up the child. I would say 7:30 to 5:30, maybe that's just me...

It needs that extra hour and I would never choose a daycare that isn't open 10 hours. Reason being is sometimes I start at 7 and sometimes 9. But I'm always done by 5. I look for a daycare with hours 7-5

Most people work 8 hours plus have 30min to 1 hour for lunch. Plus travel time. You will likely need a 9.5 hour day min.  
 
Just pick what hours you want to be open and advertise. If you don't get any kids then you will need to adjust accordingly.

I've often wondered if there is a shift worker day care. Is this something you could offer as a possibility? Places like the hospital I'm shocked do not have a day care: some staff have children and with the hours/shift work involved a centre that provides a day care or play centre would be terrific!

In November I will be opening up a daycare that allows shift workers some time as well. I will open as early as one needs and be available weekends. I do that 4-5 times a week already which was suppose to be casually

I run a daycare at home too. My hours are 730 to 430, and it works well. I've only had 1 family that needed until 5,but I couldn't do it, due to my kids extra curricular activities. Most of my families drop off between 745 and 9.

I agree a 7-730 drop off Would be awesome. Wonder if there are any daycares out there that do 4 on 4 off for shift workers?! That would be ideal but hard to fill in assuming.

Most people need at least 9 hrs of care if not more.

I would be interested to know about daycare for shift workers as well. I wouldn't need one for another year, but would be interested if there were any out there. (4 on 4 off, 12 hour shifts)

My soon to be daycare in November will help those shift workers. ( I used to be one) it is tough
