My kids are so dirty all the time, especially more now that's it's summer and we spend majority of our days outside!  
 
I've been using Resolve spray& wash but I can't seem to get all the stains out of their clothes.  
 
What do you use to get or keep your kids clothes clean?  
Is there any magical cleaner that will get already washed & dried stains out after the fact?

What brand do you use. I live in Brandon (city water) and use Tide. I have 4 kids and cant remember the last time something was permanently stained.

try oxiclean color shield. wife uses it for our kids. Sometimes she soaks them, but finds it works the best.  
 
You can buy it from walmart for $8.00. it's a blue bottle with yellow cap.

It's going to sounds weird but a product called Spray Nine.  
 
Spray the stains, let it soak in a bit, cold water wash with whatever detergent you use, and repeat until the stains come out. Once the stains are gone, then proceed to dry your clothes however.

Add the oxy clean powder directly to the wash in addition to your normal laundry detergent. If something is really stained I will use a stain remover and scrub brush to get most of the stain out and oxy clean usually gets it totally out.

I don't have it down to an art by any means, but, I use "Spray Nine" and a scrub brush on dirt and grass stains as someone already mentioned, and for really, really bad stains I use "purple power/castrol super clean"... It's a strong cleaner NOT made for clothing so use at your own risk, but I find it effective.  
 
The other thing is I learned how to use my washing machine properly. Yes, properly was key. I used to stuff it full of laundry (colour sorted), use the cheapest laundry soap around, and hope for the best.  
 
I have hard well water and always blamed poor cleaning of clothes on that... I was to blame. My front load washer is only supposed to be filled 2/3 to 3/4 full, so the clothes can slosh about and scrub properly. I also use a warm cycle on the machine, and switched to a top level detergent like Tide or Gain.  
What a difference!!!  
Even with hard well water!!!  
 
Now, my kids also have separate clothes for outside rough n tumble play, clothes for school, and nicer dressy-up clothes- most bought here on ebrandon for a great deal.

Baby oxy. Worst stains I ever dealt with were the special formula my youngest was on due to allergies and it took out the stains.

I have had the best luck with oxy spray stain remover. I used to buy the baby formula but can't always find it now. I spray it on the clothes, then throw the clothes in the hamper until I do laundry. Rarely have permanent stains.

I use a pre treatment spray from the dollar tree and I have yet to see a stain it doesn't take out. The bottle is white and I think it says "Laundry Stain Remover" on the bottle. Also, don't let the clothes sit in the laundry for days after, the longer the stain sits the harder it is to get out!

If you get a chance to get into a Costco store, try Pink Solution. It works wonders on anything.

I second the effectiveness of Oxy. I've used the stain remover powder and Palmolive with Oxy (for small spots) and had good success with both. I don't doubt the other Oxy products work equally well.  
 
My other suggestion is sun. Place the item, still very wet, out in the sun during the hotter part of the day (afternoon). I've been amazed at how the sun bleaches out stains, too, especially on whites.  
 
This may be common knowledge, but dryer heat tends to set stains. So if something comes out of the wash with a remaining stain, don't put it in the dryer until you have that stain out.

Natural elements cold water on our laundry. It gets the laundry clean. Very seldom is a stain left behind. Washing in cold water not only preserves the colours but doesn't set a stain. I line dry all of our clothes. Our clothes look and smell great without a heavy perfume smell. They last a long time too because I don't use the dryer very often. I use softened well water as well in a front load machine.
