The lady that at See Who's Kickin is SO friendly. I would suggest going through them even just based on their great service. It wasn't around yet when we found out our daughters gender so we went to First Look, and had gender determined. I went at 20 weeks to find out and baby wasn't in a good position to get a clear look so we were rescheduled a total of 3 times before we finally got a clear shot at 24 weeks. Neither place charges you to come back if the baby isn't in a good position in your belly to be seen which is really great! I have 3 friends who have recently had babies and all found out the gender through See Who's Kickin with great experiences The price is even better!

3D ultrasound at 17 weeks, which I was told by a peds doc( friend of mine)was the minimum time to sex the baby. They actually checked two times to be 100% sure and they were right. I got my little girl!

Gets my vote. Super sweet, friendly and LOVES her job. Our baby was super stubborn and didn't want to share his gender with us. Chantal had all sorts of tricks to try and get him to get into a better position. We got a result that she was 80 percent confident with ( we could totally tell by the shot she got that he was in fact a boy) but made us come back for a follow up just to be certain, that to me shows she cares for her clients. Some babies cooperate, some don't. But Chantal was determined to get it. And she did.

Chantal gets my vote too. We already knew the gender from the anatomy scan but she confirmed it for us (we didn't pay for the gender package since we knew but she showed us anyway!). You should also be prepared that they might not be able to tell because by 34 weeks there is not a lot of room left in there so it makes it so difficult to see anything. We went at 32 and it was pretty cramped already. She showed us the gender in 2D because it's actually easier to tell that way!

We also went to See Who's Kickin', and she was great.  
 
Don't waste your money on 3D though, it's weird looking and doesn't really show anything you can't see otherwise.  
 
You should know though, that at 34 weeks you're kind of late, and you may have trouble seeing much.

OP was correct, it is sex determination, not gender determination. They are two separate concepts, and an ultrasound can only tell the sex.

I went to see whos kicking chantal is amazing and reasonably priced and if she doesnt get a good picture you go back for free she did the gender for me and everytime i went back she doublw checked and she was right i definatly recomend her

Went for my third time today, amazing service, and they have been right about the gender every time.

did the hospital or pedietrians offcie quite using ultrasounds to look at baby and tell you the sex as part of your regular check up while carrying.

Pediatricians have never been involved with prenatal care. You must mean obstetrician. Some of them will tell you, if it is commented on by the radiologist reading the ultrasound. Not all radiologists comment on the sex when reading the ultrasound. The ultrasound is done to look at key anatomical structures such as kidneys and heart, and to get an accurate date. The ultrasound tech at the hospital in Brandon is not supposed to disclose the sex, even if he/she can see what it is.

I am a primary care provider who orders routine prenatal ultrasounds, and can tell you that the report that is sent to your GP/ NP/ OBGyn/ midwife does NOT always include the sex.
