Propert management is a good idea, there are a few good companies that do this.

You'll need to ensure that rent is being paid and that someone is available to tend to concerns that your tenant may have or deal with minor repairs or other unforeseen issues such as a lock out, etc. I've recently seen an ad on eBrandon for a local contracting company that is now going to consider doing some property management. The company is JMB Tile and Renovations. I have used their services for home improvements and if they are as good with property management as they are with renovations, they'd be a safe bet! Good luck to you " |

I wouldn't recommend renting your house, there are some real issues involved here. You may get a great tenant, or you may have someone completely ruin your home, or even burn it down & liability only goes so far in compensating you for your out of pocket, plus you may have to upgrade to meet building codes, access issues, other decisions like whether you allow pets,parties,co-leasing,parking issues, who covers utilities etc., your area may not be zoned for this, your neighbours may not love the idea & your insurance company may charge you a bigger premium for third party issues.
A friend in Yorkton, kept his house when he moved, got a tenant on a life lease & has a friend do a video inspection of the house every month or so.(so it can work but be very cautious)
