Some people just need to get attention - hope fully any harm done will be limited to his own body - well unless the rocket lands on some body or interferes with a plane. Any way you have to be nuts to try some thing like this . I dont know what evil Knievel made for money but I am sure most of the reason was just to get in the spotlight for a week or so each time . Mass shooters are the same - so thank goodness he isn't one

On the topic of science denial, or essentially in this case the denial of reality, a recent poll shows 42% of Americans believe the Earth to be less than 10,000 years old, that's equally as deluded as thinking the earth is flat, yet we're talking about millions of people.

is likely more than what people realize. And it has it's roots in religion and politics. The Moon Landing, Age of the Earth, Flat Earth, Hollow Earth, Climate Change are a few and all the science behind them. Sadly with the current polititical and reglious state of mostly the US, it will continue. We will continue to have people who deny science or use alternative science to make thier version work. And this predates Trump being President and will continue for the fore seeable future.

His plans have been delay since he didn't get permission from the Federal Government to launch on Federal land. So he's going private land and try on Tuesday.

Because obviously you wait until nearly the last minute to see if you have the government's permission to do something stupid on federal land. My prediction for Tuesday is he can't find a private landowner who will give him permission.
