Cat Attack
9/21/2010 at 2:48 PM
I have a friend who came over the other day in tears because her female cat weighing only about 4 pounds had attacked her, and shes had the cat for over 3 years now. They recently moved to a new apartment, and they have one other male cat. Both cats are fixed. They were looking out the window at a stray cat outside when the male cat lost his footing on the ledge of the window, That caused the female cat to go balistic. She then attacked the male cat, the male cat didnt fight back and thats when my friends roomate broke up the fight, the male cat then ran to the living room while the female cat latched onto her roomates arm. The roomate finally was able to get the cat to release, then the cat proceeded to bolt to the living room, then she seen my friend, The cat went out of her way to attack my friend and jumped onto her arm, Scratching and biting furiously. After all of that happened, and my friend went to emerg, They thought it was over. The next morning my friend woke up to the female cat attacking the male cat once again. She broke up the fight using a blanket, the male cat hid under it scared the female emerged from the blanket and attacked my friend again for the second time in less than 24 hours.
What could have caused the female cat to go completely beserk, out of no where? Going out of her way to attack her owners? Both cats are strictly indoor cats, She talked to animal control and they are worried about rabies, she told him that neither of the cats have never been outside, but he said sometimes it "can just happen"
Any suggestions to as why this might have happened?
