Puppy mill South of Winnipeg

u are ads for puppies (of several different breeds) on this site from a breeder (and his female partner) that claim to be from Brandon, and claim that their puppies are raised in the home. They are not. We bought a pup, found out that we had to go far south of Winnipeg, and that this was a puppy mill. The only time these pups were in the house was for a photo op. I can't name names without getting into trouble. Just know that our pup came home with us because we thought we could (at least) get him out of a bad situation. He did not live long. Weaned too early. Anxiety issues. Health issues. Be sure. Rescues and proven breeders are the best option.

This is the number for the Provinces' Animal Care line. Call them and hopefully they will visit the breeder and possibly shut them down..

The numbers below, then call CBCs Go Public depending on what level of action you get from the proper officials.

Especially if you do not get any help from the inspectors and proper channels, have that ready to go.

I too, bought a puppy years ago from what was supposed to be a breeder, but was a mill. Dog was dead within a year it was so sick. It was a pug. In that case, wheels were already in motion to shut them down but the province had not moved fast enough. This mill seizure was part of the reason Petland no longer sells animals.

If there's currently something on the site please click on "report" on an ad where you are sure this is taking place, I would like to take a look. A lot of very reputable local folks make use of this category, I want to know about any situation where there might be unethical or even unlawful use so that it can be addressed as appropriate. Thx

Anything like this is so bad the animals are used constantly for 18-24 months then dis-guarded and left to die. The humans in this kind of trade are only in it for money their greed takes over.
So please report any thing like this to the appropriate authorities and get it stamped out.

There are piles of puppy mills in the Morden Winkler area. Always be cautious when looking into dogs from there.

You have to report if you know any puppy mills or have received a dog from a puppy mill. You won’t get in trouble … they will. The shelters will take the animals and take care of them
