Hey everyone! I'm looking for a Catholic mom's group in the Westman area. I live in Neepawa and we don't currently have one. I just phoned St. Augustine in Brandon and they don't have one either. I'm really hoping to make some more Catholic mother friends! It would be nice to get together once a week or once every two weeks to play with our kids, maybe do a Catholic Bible study, and pray together! Is anyone interested? We could meet in Brandon, or wherever most people are... I know that I'm in Brandon quite a lot as my parents live there!

We used to have a group of moms that met informally for a bible study at St. Augustine's on Monday evenings, but that was quite a few years ago now. Most moms have moved on as their children aged and moved into the school system (not us, ha ha ha... we're having baby #5 in January and we homeschool most of our kids so we never really "moved on" from that phase of life).  
 
I would be game for something informal, probably in the afternoons. Our mornings are full of school, and evenings our kids have their activities. I had asked about starting a formal group at the parish, and there were quite a few requirements that I just don't have the time for. It's always been my dream to start a Catholic Nursing Mother's League group, but I haven't gotten around to it yet!!! LOL  
 
What ages are your kids?

Abbysmum, that would be incredible! I am a passionate breast-feeding enthusiast, I breastfed my eldest child until 3 and a half years old and I'm still breastfeeding her brother and he turned 2 this past June.  
 
A night group wouldn't work for me - afternoons would be awesome, but it would also get tricky because my daughter gets out of school at 3:30 (she's 6, Grade 1 this year) and we live in Neepawa so Brandon is 50 minutes away.  
 
Maybe it's something I can ask my parish priest about. I've taken on the role of catechism coordinator, though, so I don't know if I can facilitate both. And I know our priest is so amazing but he's also the priest for several local nearby areas, and he's already doing SO much for the parish! It's amazing the way these men give their energy, time and hard work to their calling. Inspiring!
