a question about First Nations drumming

After reading this story and watching the associated video (
https://www.cbc.ca/news/indigenous/pukatawagan-drummers-video-plastic-bin-1.5274096) there was a few things I've always wondered that I'm hoping someone can answer.
Do the vocalizations they make actually contain words, or are they the equivalent of a European-descended person singing "la la la"?
If they are words, what are they singing? Are they telling a story? Singing a prayer? So much of their culture is very layered with elements of their spirituality, so I would assume there's a meaning to it beyond "la la la".
I've always been intensely curious about that, but never have had the opportunity to ask.
I'm very glad these boys are getting a proper drum .
