School speed limits

I was sitting at a school today waiting for my grand child..was sitting in the car watching to see how many vehicles do not adhere to the speed zone..there were a few and one was a school bus..what makes the school bus thing it doesn't have to follow the rules..Just because you are part of the school division doesn't make them any different than us.

is immune to the speed limits. If a cop was there, the bus driver could be fined the same as any other vehicle.

How fast where they going? 40/50/60? How do you know how fast they are going?

I only ask the question as a lot of people feel that someone is going faster than they actually are. I see many going in school zones 10km under the posted limit so other vehicles are perceived to be speeding.

Other cars could have been going slower then the speed limit . In no way can you even discuss the fact that they could have been speeding in a school zone without A) driving beside them to compare speeds or B) you have a radar in your car.

It's the same with Brandon city workers. They drive 80 km/h down Richmond to the Civic Services Complex. Personal vehicles first thing in the morning. The speed limit is 60.

is one of the best comments in this thread!

It seems that more and more eBrandon members have radar units in the vehicles these days which allow them to accurately discuss speeding vehicles in our city at different locations.

When I used to pick up my grandchildren from school...I would time the vehicles. use the stop watch on my cell to see how fast they are going. I never seen a school bus go over. I did see lots of ppl hit the brakes hard after seeing the sign. The ones i did note were Taxis.
