Late in January I started to feel the winter blahs and was having trouble getting to sleep. Otherwise I felt fine. I increased my time outside (despite the cold) and started going for walks in the late evening. It's made a huge improvement in my state of mind and I'm sleeping better. A good dose of fresh air seems to make a difference. As don brown says, getting outside seems to help. I haven't made any snow angels in years but I may give it a whirl. " |

I read an article about a month or so ago about an outdoor daycare up in Thompson, of all places. These kids spend the vast majority of, if not all, their day outside in all kinds of weather, including winter.
Their philosophy? There is no bad weather, just bad clothing choices. I've taken this philosophy to heart and have been sending my kids outside a lot more in not ideal waether. The result appears to be happier, heathier kids, even if it's just 20 minutes extra a day.
