I didn’t say they were dragging it out...I was just saying to the poster I quoted that “cost plus” and “not finishing earlier than you had too” are how you typically do it on large construction jobs...

For the grind and replace program that is currently under way all over the city the penalty is $1500 per day from October 1 on.

I think they all are...

Richmond Ave. and 26th Str. projects are not grind and replace, i.e. resurfacing a roadway. Those projects are for replacing sewer and water infrastructure. And it looks like the road surface, curbs and sidewalks above the infrastructure will be left in a mess - unless the weather co-operates more than it has. On Richmond, traffic is now open one lane east and one lane west, i.e. half capacity, in order to accommodate rehab of the curbs sidewalks and driveways. If past performance is an indication ….

Our street was ground and resurfaced and has been done for about a month now. I'm sure others have been completed as well.

One lane on the natural Eastbound section of Richmond now open. Anyone with better knowledge than this layman able to speak to impacts of weather at this time of the year (and then below average temp stretch we’re in), effects on timelines, effects on quality?

9th Street south of Richmond has been in the grind state for several weeks but has not hit the replace stage yet. Several inch high sharp spots that are very hard on tires.

if I thought none of them were completed I'd have said "I don't think any of them are"

the milling and overlay work by contract was to have been completed as of Oct. 1, 2018  
 
Now, this is what the contract states, however if an addendum was issued, they could have extended the final completion date that we are not aware of.

I know nothing about asphalt...but if it's like concrete you aren't working with it very well in these temps...at least concrete you can hoard but not really an option when you need to run a paver over it?

As far as I know they’re just putting a sidewalk and updating the road, never thought it would take close to 2 months to make, most of the time I go by it at various times of day no ones working! What’s taking so long??

More then one job. Also could be not as high on the priority list for the city. I'd imagine 26th street is more of priority at this time.

Is now completed. No rhyme or reason
