Just wondering if anybody has received there MPI payment.

I received mine in the mail yesterday

Happy with the payment.

Anybody else receive their cheque yet? Nobody in our house have yet.

Yesterday. $88.00.

The amount we pay for insurance and the amount of driving done, or lack there of over the last few months because of the pandemic, the rebates should have been much bigger. I expect MPI to show a pretty decent profit this year. Let see when this year's earnings come out what kind of smoke screen they can put up for this. I wish we had a private option.

on Friday ($68) - rebate, as you likely know, is calculated on your basic insurance so the registration cost, deductible premium and liability premium plus plate cost do not form part of the calculation. Our vehicle is an 01 model so the rebate is approx. what we thought it would be. A neighbour rec'd their rebate yesterday and we have several friends who are awaiting theirs - cheques are in the mail MPI says.

Relax people ……….. you will get your cheque. MPI has how many customers? Imagine how many cheques they had to make and send. You will get yours THIS WEEK (they mailed May 25)

I received mine today. I had no idea what to expect but it was $108. (Now I don’t feel bad ordering new sandals!! Haha) The other half didn’t receive his yet.

Got mine yesterday. It was all but a few cents of what my monthly payments are, $151.

Nothing at our house yet. Maybe tomorrow.

2 out of the 3 vehicle owners in our house received their cheque’s this week.

Got mine today.

Said we should get about $110 to $140 all i got was $70.00 Sheese.

have been based on a brand new vehicle. Got a whopping 68 bucks here!  
 
If I remember correctly when the rebate was first announced it stated that half of the available cash was to be handed out first and the possible rebate was to be 11 percent of your premium. PUB was to decide how the other half was to be dispersed.  
Ours was no where near 11 percent. Government must have done their special accounting in order to keep some of that cash for their own coffers  
 
Typical Conservative move, tell you that you are getting fifty bucks back and somehow it changes to half that amount. And I voted for them, twice, ugh!

We have a 2010 Nissan Altima worth around $7k. We got $135 rebate cheque, had it for a few years and was always insured, we both have a perfect driving record with maximum discount applied.  
 
Some people may get less back if they have a poor driving record and didnt have a vehicles insured under their name for the last several years. I think the rebate is calculated on the average amount over the last few years and your driving record considered. The last time I got a rebate cheque was quite a few years ago and at that point you had to have a vehicle insured for several years and it was an average of those years with the driving record discount applied to it somehow.

11 % of your "basic premium". Not your total bill including deductible amount and driver's license fee. That is why a lot of people are feeling they didn't get as much as they thought they would. Be happy we got anything. Can't think of any private insurance company that would give money back if profits too high.

Something positive. We weren't expecting anything and they went back as far as 2018 to make sure that their clients were able to get something. (it was on the statement that was given with the cheque)
