Downsizing at Superintendents' office.

The Brandon School Division is beginning its shift to downsize the Superintendents' office. Two assistant positions were vacated on Tuesday.
Chair Jim Murray says the next step will take place October 14th, at the School Divisions next meeting, when the job description of the new associate superintendent will be defined.
Murray says this change has been a long time coming and will free up a portion of the annual budget, which could be put back into the classrooms.
My question is do these two people get severance pay, and if yes will the citizens of Brandon be saving any money?
