Yesterday while I went to work, to make a living and provide for my children two girls aged 11 took it upon themselves to enter my home, trash it, and steal from me. They literally trashed my house, it will take days to clean, and severe damage was caused. They took clothes, electronics, valuables and food. They smashed my four year olds piggy bank and stole his money. They stole my 11 year old daughters hard earned money she was saving for a trip she's taking to BC. They stole irreplaceable jewelry, my parents are dead and they took their jewelry. My dad died when I was 2, my mum when I was 19. These were the only things I had left of them.  
 
Because of their age there is 0 accountability. The most the police can do is try and get my stuff back. Which makes me ill, with no consequences what will these kids do next? If they're committing home invasions at 11 what will they do at 15? I feel bad for them that they are this lost at such young age.  
 
My daughter busted her butt, made honor role at ecole Harrison to get an iPhone, gone in an instant. Not to mention the invasion of space. We feel violated and betrayed. These are kids I have fed. To top it off, before we knew what happened as we pulled up to our house these kids were sitting on the sidewalk eating my watermelon laughing. They hightailed it as soon as they saw me, which should have been my first indication they did something. But no I had to discover moments later my home had been invaded.  
 
What a sad world we live in. I tried to hard to teach my kids to trust people, that world isn't so horrible for this to happen and now they feel like I lied. None of them slept much last night, they all were sad and hurt. I hope your 30 mins of thrill was worth the heartbreak you created for my family.

Not only did you lose personal belongings, but your sense of security is gone. You must feel violated. Wish we could catch these creeps in the act - so much vandalism in Brandon now.

They know who did it. I think the problem is their age. Parents should be held responsible

girls were caught by police? Did you know these girls prior to this?  
 
In this case, with the Young Offenders Act, the Police hands are tied. The Police can't do more because the Young Offenders Act says they can't.

Have you contacted their parents? If their parents refuse to investigate their kids, you could always find photos and shame them over social media as a consequence.

I really hope you are kidding by "shaming" them over social media. Bullying is not going to help the situation. Talk to the parents everything else is out of your hands. Hope you get your stuff back

To be found. I found an aunt at one house, who was really nice and helpful. The other home their was a brother home.

These kids need consequences for their actions. If police wont do it, something needs to happen so these twats don't do it again.

go back until you do get the parents, A break and enter (which is what this was, not a home invasion, that is when you are in the house while they do it and is more serious yet) anyway a B&E is still a serious crime and i would keep going back until you talked to the parents, unfortunately these girls likely know you cant do anything because of their age....really makes you wonder how such young girls got to that point.....so sad really  
 
ps i know you are mad but maybe if you can get them to help you clean even they will maybe just maybe realize what they have done and if you could talk to them and show them you are human and not just some big bad "rich" person maybe they might end up with a touch of morals

Too bad they are so young but where are the parents?  
 
Did they actually break into the home or just walk in?

I cant find it but i did think that if the child is under 12 there are still a few things the police can do, one is keep them until they consult with their parents and the other is refer them to CFS, I thought there were also a few other "consequences" but i have a feeling that the police just don't want to be bothered, unfortunate really  
 
I would also suggest that you teach your daughter not to give out to much info, like when you'll be home and what not, I know she shouldn't have to watch herself but seeing they are the same age my guess is they know a lot about you guys from either hearing it from her or over hearing her tell her friends, they probably also know your car and what not but just dont give them any more info then they can figure out for themselves

They can look into why these children are not being supervised, and also the obvious lack of parenting involved. Any parent with 2 brain cells to rub together, should have the common sense to teach their own kids right from wrong. If the parents in question lack that simple abilty, you may be doing the kids the biggest favour of their lives, by giving the a chance to be placed in a home with proper parents.

Really? Making someone's despicable acts public makes someone worse than an idiot who thinks it's okay to steal and ruin someone's home? Oooookaaay.

They said "find photos and shame them" find photos of what...nothing of relation to the B&E so yes that is ridiculous and who is the adult here?? Kids do stupid stuff yes. I get it. But to "shame" them with something that has no relation is irresponsible and low...

as i had said earlier, this is definitely a case of bad parenting and kids that absolutely do not know how to behave in public.  
 
letting the general public know who kids are would be the best idea ever. people don't wish for thousand of dollars worth of theft and damage done to their home. perhaps if these parents knew that their lack of parenting was public knowledge they may actually start parenting the way they should have, a decade or so ago.

Stealing precious, irreplaceable items is a bit beyond just "stupid stuff". "Stupid stuff" is it wiping it's nose on the couch. Committing a crime punishable by years in prison if it were an adult is a disgusting act that needs to be punished. Obviously the kid doesn't know any better, and apparently the parents are doing a crap job of teaching it any better.

An unfortunate event of circumstances, but I disagree with the inaction from the police strictly because of the kids age. The OP states she saw them outside, eating her watermelon and "hightailed it" when they were seen. If the only evidence is them near the home eating some fruit that cannot be proven that it belonged to someone else... That's a very weak accusation to put on these girls. What is a cop to do? I'm not saying they didn't have anything to do with it... just saying, what else is there to link them to the crime? Did the neighbours see anything or any witnesses came forward saying they were in the home? How did someone enter? Was it unlocked or forced entry? In this day and age... Anyone can suspect and accuse another. So unless there's physical proof or eyewitnesses, the cops can't and won't do anything, but talk to those who may be involved. If the OP is lucky, family members or people who know these girls with a good sense of morals will inform the OP or the police when the missing items surface (perhaps that Aunt from the one). Maybe this could get settled without the police? Try approaching the parents gracefully. Not with attitude and the guns blazing. Be nice about it and perhaps the storey will unfold. I'm thinking there's more kids involved. Crack one of them and the information will flow. But you need the cooperation of the parent to make that work.

The girls have admitted to doing it, they were also caught with some of our possessions. There's no doubt it was them. I also caught one of the girls a few hours later and was rather compassionate toward her, I asked her why? And have her a ride home to talk to the parents who were not around. Hope that clears things up.

You want to put pictures of 11 year old girls on social media without the parents consent, what if harm cones to these girls as a result, no judge is even care what they are guilty of, you will be screwed

That changes everything, but the shaming thing. All I can say is... settle up with the parents for compensation or seek legal advise if there is any resistance from the families.

when it was suggested to find pics and shame the girls, i believe the thought was publicly put out there that these girls stole and vandalized so the shaming would have something to do with the B&E

babies are born with fingerprints, so these kids would have some too. they're not like baby teeth....  
 
the police are plenty qualified to fingerprint this particular home and compare them to any suspects.

I would talk to the police again. Maybe they said they could not do anything because of their age, but you would think they are going to file a report with CFS or some other department. I can't just see them walking away from this.

BnE at that age is crazy. If the parents won't compensate you or get the things back call cfs. It's about the only thing you can do.

Have no intention of posting pics. I do understand why it was suggested and if they were older it might even be considered, however they are young.

I worked with a lot of kids over the years, as a CFS worker. We had a number of children under the age of 12 that were in care because they were committing acts that would be considered criminal if not for their age.  
 
First thing, talk to the parents and give them a chance to step up to the plate. If they don't help you, then call CFS. Any child that is committing robberies that their parents or guardians are aware of would likely be considered a child in need of protection.  
 
Another thought, if you know that the kids still have your property, and if it's in the house with the parent of guardian, then they can be held accountable and charged with being in possession of stolen goods.

Just updated by police. They admitted to bring in my house and taking some of my belongings. Denying they took money or jewelry. Cops can do nothing. Case closed. On their end anyway. We've been robbed of our safety, comfort in our home, our possessions but most of all pieces of my family I'll never get back.

Why not post what these 2 have done, why shouldn't people know the type of poor character these girls have??  
 
Nobody holds these punks accountable for what they did, nobody. This is what's wrong with society today, nobody has the time to straighten things out. He least thy could have done is make them cleanup the mess they made. I hope they get what's coming to them and I hope they hit your house next and you'd change your tune.
