It could happen to any of us! This situation was made that much more serious because of the extreme heat! I can't imagine the near helpless feeling of that poor mother watching her child suffer in that vehicle. She acted it seems appropriately by calling the tow truck company and then 911 when the situation turned. Thank God for the tow truck driver for taking the situation so seriously and dropping everything to attend. If he hadn't of this could have been a very different outcome for this family!! We are so quick to judge a situation that we forget that we are all human and things happen accidentally. I am so grateful for the tow truck driver and the powers that be that this child got to survive another day! I hope Mom survives this trauma as she is likely the one who won't soon forget this event.

So glad the little one is alright and how scary for all involved!  
 
In this situation where you are in a state of panic and not thinking clearly plus the temperatures are so dangerously high and with all the news stories of children dying in cars, would it not have been better to call 911?  
 
They chose to call a tow truck driver who was on the north hill and had to make his way across the city (which he did in very good time) when they could have called 911 and emergency crews could have been there in minutes especially with a fire department pretty much directly across from Applebee's over on 13th?  
 
IMO, if this happens with anyone else, it would be better to call 911  
 

911 where police and/or fire could have easily smashed the window like they have done on numerous occasions would have been the obvious choice.

Everybody talks about what someone should have done. Let's put you in a panic situation under pressure and then test use of common sense.  
 
Was the situation handled in a textbook way - maybe not. Was the situation handled in a way that facilitated a positive outcome? YES so a win for all.

Glad to hear that both children (brdn and wpg) are fine!

When a child is stuck in a car *especially in +30s).. u break stuff to get in..I would never have waited foremergency response. It's not that hard to break a window..there's also tools for it to make it very easy..a lot of people have them...im not being judgemental and I feel for them..but I woulda smashed things to get it...but that's me..glad everyone ok..and I suggest getting the little Keychain thay easily breaks windows.. would save alot of grief and panick..this whole thread dramatic and people need to think and just think. Who waits for 91q when their kid boiling? Not me. Sry if I offend people..that's how I would do it.
