I know this family is local, because I recognize the father - I am amazed at how patient the parents are - and I do hope Dr Phil will help this family out. Can't wait to see part 2 tomorrow.

I feel for the parents, like Dr. Phil said they are in over their heads. Pray all works out for that brilliant little girl.

I'm glad that Dr. Phil was able to make recommendations and connections with what sound like world class treatment options and doctors. This family truly and sincerely come across as wanting the best for everyone and I hope this helps them on that path. I don't watch the TV show enough to know if they follow-up very often but I hope they are able to update if all parties feel it appropriate to do so.

I'll be the first person to mock Dr. Phil - his guests - and his show.  
 
But this episode, my word. I was actually pretty impressed with his approach in dealing with this situation. I really hope that this family can find some resolution for her and find appropriate treatment routes.

I am very glad that at the end of the episode they gave an update. I am glad that they have found 1 or 2 possible diagnoses and can work at changing her medication. I am sure they will continue to work with this family and hope they update us on her progress! All the best to the family.

First time I have ever watched Dr. Phil. I was actually very impressed that he was able to provide some positive insight for a family that has been struggling in our medical system for many years. I do not know this family and really that was not my reason for watching. I wanted to know about the history behind the case and saw this as an indictment of our mental health system in Manitoba and Canada.

I'm in somewhat of a similar situation...would she be open to talking? It's hard when you feel like you're the only one in this situation

I have watched many Dr. Phil shows. Really, really hope these folks get help that they need!!  
The Mom and Dad really came across well.Good luck to you!!Would really like to help in any way!! I can only try to imagine what you have been going through. Our system here in Canada is totally not able to deal with these types of problems!!

I used to work with the Dad. I knew that there were "issues" at home, but I had no idea they were this extreme. I really hope they can get some relief with the connections the show was able to provide.  
 
It's very unfortunate that one of the major drawbacks of a socialist medical system as we have in Canada is that help for this kind of problem is difficult to come by. The "for profit" system in the US is where all the money, facilities and experts seem to be. It's sad to see that a family has to resort to this type of public embarrassment in order to get something done for their daughter.

This was my thought as well - but more specifically - what it brought up for me is what kind of MRI services, and Diagnostics do we have at the Brandon Hospital?  
 
How many other cases like this one have been looked over and not diagnosed properly??? I do hope this will bring the Hospital services more into the limelight - so we can have improvements at our local Hospital.  
 
Does anyone have the name of the MRI Specialist that Dr. Phil sent this family too? I think I need a referral, but need the actual name and address - if anyone can provide that for me. Thank you!

I winder why Dr. Phil didn't give a home plan, school plan and how to discipline her. But I guess he wants the testing done first. I Hope they do a follow up show to see what the testing showed. It's pretty sad our health care/mental care in this country fails so many kids and adults. It seems like we are in the stone ages still. The states has so much advancements (although a person has to pay) it's probably worth it. Hopefully they can get her back on track. She seems like a very intelligent girl.

There was a update at the end of the show if you watched right until the end. She does have some issues in her brain and 2 possible disorders. They are in the process of switching her meds first to see what happens  

I pray that this Family gets all the help they will need. I feel so sorry for all of them.

I spoke briefly with Aneska's parents yesterday. Although they aren't doing media interviews, they confirmed they are back home in Brandon and are following the experts' advice to change Aneska's medication.  
 
It's easy to miss the "update" at the very end of the 2nd Dr Phil episode on this family... it appears after the credits roll. It explains what the doctors saw in the brain imaging they did in the US and what they recommended the family do.

How do we know it was the Brandon Hospital? Quite often people are sent to Winnipeg for tests. Just sayin'.
