what this family feels right now, and and not to negate the husbands'' comments about not sleeping and feeling unsafe - I would venture a guess that a lot of us that live within blocks of these events are feeling the same way.

I know I double and triple checked my locks, left all of my lights on, and was up a few times through the night just worrying. I didn''t feel safe in my own home, and we are a few blocks away from the shooting and where they caught up to two of the perps.
I understand there is methods and policies that the BPS has to follow, and that they would not release info so as to excite panic, but I would have felt a bit better if there was something more official released.
Although once I did read the official police recount, I actually began to feel worse. Should make everyone feel safer knowing (allegedly) this was a targeted attack, but - knowing that these criminals were that far off the mark with bad intel on who lived at that home is scarier yet. Someone innocent may have been hurt or worse.
As I said, everything is under investigation still and nothing concrete can be reported, but with the mention that BPS are worried about connection with all the recent issues, I wish we could have more insight as to what they THINK is happening so the general public can better arm (no pun intended) their families. Look at the two shootings in the US in the past few days - those were seemingly random victims. I would like to know what the general public needs to do to protect themselves.
Best wishes to this family.
