Good thing the Mom checked the treat bag!

Why did somebody put a needle in a candy bag for halloween!! What was the person thinking last nite!! That makes me sick when I seen this on news.im glad the parent took it out of the bag of candy

Syringe, not needle.

Seen on CBC police are investigating the case, but also questioning the validity of the complaint, so it sounds like their is some holes in the story or something.

Way to give our city a bad look lady. The fact it wasnt used, had a cap and wasnt hidden in anything makes me believe that this lady is looking for some attention.

it also appears to be a syringe used by diabetics ...and yes...I realize that diabetic syringes are used for illicit drug use.  
 
Having said that, there was no needle and it was a unused and found inside a treat bag (ziplock?).  
 
Another reminder as to why it is important to check kids candy. Thankfully no harm was done.

who's bag was it in? The teenage girls or the 7 year olds?

"Syringe Located in Treat Bag  
 
On Monday evening at 8:30 pm, officers responded to a report of a syringe being located in a treat bag. A 13 year old and 15 year old girl stated they found an unused syringe in a treat bag after returning from trick or treating. The matter is still under investigation.  
 
To clarify, the report of a syringe being located on Monday evening in a treat bag is a single incident reported to BPS. The information reported in the media does not match the actual complaint received, however the complaints are the same. At this time, there is only a single incident and the validity of that report is under investigation."

Syringe located in Treat Bag – Update  
 
Officers investigating the report of a syringe located in a teenage girl’s treat bag on Halloween have determined the incident is not malicious. The syringe was knocked into a bowl of treats by a pet cat that spilled a box of insulin syringes. The syringe was then unintentionally put into the treat bag. This was the only incident of this type reported to police and the references to a 7-year-old child being involved that were reported at the time have been determined to be false.
