Let us know when your new station hits the air. Or were you just wanting to sit back and wait for somebody else to step up up and do all the work and invest their money?

Only in a perfect scenario, we can get a television station specially for Brandon. Unless the Neepawa channel gets A LOT of money and approval from the CRTC so they can go to Brandon and all over Westman for sports, news etc. and broadcast it live, its not going happen anytime soon if ever.

Neepawa access channel is run by volunteers. The retired school principal has run it seems like forever. He stepped down this month and the station was on the brink of closing but was reorganized to keep going, not due to Mr Traill's stepping down.  
 
They also do a lot of fund raising and apply for grants.  
 
They like the theaters need to upgrade their equipment to digital and it is very expensive.

Could Winnipeg station not have a segment specifically for Brandon with a reporter stationed here? Surely there's been a lot happening in Brandon lately to warrant this. Not all good news, sadly though.  
As for Brandon having it's own station, I can't see that happening unless it was entirely run by volunteer. With TV the way it is now, I think a lot of people are opting for other options now rather than get cable (ex.: Netflix, etc.)

CBC Manitoba has a news reporter based out of Brandon, that reports on major local news that happens Brandon and Westman.

ACC has a news program ran by the students in the media program that reports on local news on Westman Cable channel 12 nightly. I think it runs at 6 pm. Or atleast they did a few years ago when I switched from Westman to MTS.

are you doing to get a TV station back besides asking that someone else do it. Are you going to provide the capital costs to start it up? To start a new TV station is going to be very expensive. You will need studios, production rooms, camera equipment, transmitters, staff, etc..  
 
Sure we all would like to have a local news station here, but near the end the only thing that was from Brandon was the news telecasts, local ads and the rest was from CBC.

I would think a traditional TV station, its time has passed, can't see anybody investing in something that's on the way out, I know my self and thousands of others are cutting the cord on cable TV and going with just internet,so it would have to be something of that nature don't know anything about the costs or difficulty of that but, I would think you would be right back where CKX was in a small market where it just wasn't feasible, If I remember correctly they offered CKX to someone for a dollar and was turned down.

I was just watching a local BU volleyball game on TV.

I don't think a television station is actually moving forward.

Majority of anything local is done online thru online social media such as Facebook, which has dwindled local stations out of existence  
 
We had a local station but it didn't have enough support and viewers to keep it running anymore

Is there really enough going on in Brandon to have a 30-60 minute news broadcast? I can read the Brandon Sun, eBrandon, bdnmb in less than 30 minutes to catch up on what's going on. Then you have to fill the rest of the station's time. Very costly venture.

Just read the brandon sun or go on facebook. You get the same news you would on a tv station.

As someone who works in Brandon media and has seen this idea brought up and talked through more than a few times, I can tell you it's pretty unlikely we will ever get something like CKX back.

Even if it was brought back i doubt it would last very long. Younger generations aren't really interested in watching it I don't think. Besides anything that happens in brandon you can catch on CTV winnipeg news at either lunch and at 6pm anyways.

... but we've had Reg on Open Mic, I believe twice in the last year. At least 2 Open shows a week where you can bring up any topic, and always taking suggestions for shows. Toot Too .

It's a business that's dying. Look at the statistics https://nocable.org/learn/cable-tv-cord-cutting-statistics. Cordless household currently comprise nearly 10% of the market.  
 
I also have a proposal, start a new business where you throw money into the garbage can. But wait that doesn't make sense...you won't make any money.. Neither does a local cable station Brandon or elsewhere at this time or in the near future. Soon all network cable will be gone.
