Great to see the old Movies and More store on Rosser is advertising Jeanne's cakes. We just grabbed one when we were in Winnipeg. Is there anywhere else in Brandon that brings them in. We used to get them at Stan's. If you haven''t tried you should!

that they're selling them. Personally don't see what all the hype is. You either love the cakes or you don't!

Having a parent who grew up in Winnipeg, we used to have these cakes for mom's birthday! I enjoy the chocolate flakes and shortbread bottom but I can see how many people aren't overly impressed by them! I think it's more about the tradition to those who grew up with Jeanne's cakes!

and although we never had them at home for birthdays, they were always my favorite when we went to a party that had a Jeanne's cake. Then in High School, there was a Jeanne's Bakery down the street...yum.

After Stan's closed, the only place I found them around here was at the Canex in Shilo!

Definitely people know them if you are from Winnipeg. Very popular at weddings...those ones being from the actual bakery. They come in Marble, Chocolate, Vanilla and Banana. The shortbread crust is unique and very good. I believe the cupcakes do not have the crust. They are available all over Winnipeg now at Sobeys and Foodfare stores there too so you don't have to stand in line at the bakery. Besides Shilo, Clear Lake had them. Other MB spots bring them in as well, know they are at Grand Beach and Victoria Beach. Calgary brings them in a well for the original Winnipegers missing their cake. Anyways was nice to see them advertised here. Thanks for bringing them! One less Wpg pick up.
