if i ask for certain amount of fuel and they put more in do i have to pay.......if you dont know, please dont post

the establishment ask you pay? I would pay if more fuel was put in by error. In my opinion you should pay or have them siphon out the excess.

First time it happen staff tried taking advantage and making me called another coop later and found out no...next day i went back and talked to the manager and she cleared it (i was 17-18 at the time)  
 
Happened again at same co op and i just paid for what i asked for..  
 
So no you dont have to pay for more then what you asked for

Legally if you ask for $20 then that should be all you pay for. It is reasonable that you may only have a fixed amount available.  
 
If the pump jockey doesn’t hear you or punches wrong amount you might get more. Some stations deducted extra from their pay. There is some “justice” to this scenario.  
 
Morally if you are getting extra I would suggest you are morally obligated to pay for it. Fuel costs are essentially determined by how much you drive not how full the tank is.

I've never had this happen to me but depending what my circumstances were would depend on how I responded to having more gas put in then i asked for .  
 
If I had the money to pay for the gas I would pay it. I would also point out that I only asked for X amount so they knew about the mistake that was made .  
 
There was a time when Iif I asked for $20 of gas chances are I couldn't afford to put more then $20 of gas in my car. If that was the case as embarrassing as it would be I would explain that all I asked for is $20 of gas and I don't have more then $20 to give them. I highly doubt the staff would spend the time trying to syphon the gas back out of the tank and in most modern cars it's not possible to do that anyway.  
 
I don't think any gas bar attendant would intentionally pump more gas then someone asked for .it's more likely that they just didn't hear you. The easiest way to try and avoid this is to ask them to verify they heard you by having them confirm how much you asked them to pump. The other option would be to pump your own gas and that way you'll never have that issue .

My son used to work at a gas station. If he were to accidentally pump extra gas into a vehicle, the difference came off his pay, if I'm not mistaken.
