Need some xmas gift ideas for a 84 year old man that already has everything he needs. Tired of giving socks, gloves, candy, ties,books and sweaters. Anyone have some classic ideas??

Does he like tea? I did this for an elderly aunt.  
 
Bought different tea packs from David's tea, bought a nice cup at Stokes. Went to a thrift shop and bought a basket and doily and put the cup in the middle with tea packs around. I did cut off the different kind of teas from the boxes and put in the cup, in case she had a favorite and then we would know.

Living on the farm still with his wife, but is slowing down due to health decline. Loves woodworking, nature, gardening, and just puttering around doing anything but doesn't like winter activities.

What about a magazine subscription? When I look on google, there are a couple of Canadian wood working magazines. I gave my auntie the Manitoba Gardener magazine one year.

And doesn't seem to be much of a reader anymore.

He is a pop drinker.

Gift certificate to the green spot? House cleaner? Snow removal? M&M’s for easy dinner ideas?  
 
I used to make up a gift basket of the foods my grandpa liked and would add a new pair of pj’s and a pillow to it along with some western novels

Gift cards could work as well.

Book on making bird tables/nest boxes, or even bags of birdseed, nut cakes, suet blocks.  
Though perhaps the best thing you could give would be your time, to listen or maybe help with the gardening.

What about jigsaw puzzles. Janzens Hobby store on Park Ave has some fantastic jigaw puzzles... with large sized pieces as well.  
Colouring books with tri shaped pencil crayons. The tri shaped pencil crayons are really easy for those of us with diminished grip to hold.  
Does the 84 year old gentleman like to listen to audio books? If reading is difficult now, audio books are wonderful to have.  
Large Print Word Search or Crossword puzzle books.  
Are there any companies around that would do a monthly pop? Last year for Christmas, our family gifted my husband with a monthly book of the month plus coffee gift that came by mail. He loved it.  
Something to look forward to each month. While I'm not sure pop can be mailed, perhaps there is a way to do a Monthly pop gift. Pop of the month flavour.

What about buying him some birdhouses, paints and brushes from the Dollarama? He can enjoying painting them in the winter and then put them out in the spring.

As I get older and have for the most part the ability to buy what I want, when I want, do what I want....There is one thing that I will never get enough of and that is time. Simple things like helping weed the garden, likes nature - go for a drive somewhere different, maybe visit Clear Lake area. Even just to visit and talk would be a gift I would love. I live with enough regrets about not seeing some people in my life enough before they passed....I don't want to add more to the list. Honestly I could care less for a gift, but a gift of your time I would treasure.

How about make some individual portion freezer meals? Use the rectangular meal containers from Dollarama. This way they get a healthy home cooked meal without having to go to all the work.
