When do you start decorating your house?

will be putting up my tree tomorrow.. of course fake tree.. since I will not be here for xmas.

neighbourhood already have their xmas lights on.

Normally I don't start until December but for some reason I feel antsy to do it this year! I was kinda thinking of doing the tree tomorrow but think I'll settle for doing some Pinterest projects and decorating the outside first. I think if I put up the tree now I'll be sick of it come December lol.  
 
 
Hahaha....just texted my husband saying I was considering the tree tomorrow and he just laughed....guess not! Lol

We won't decorate until mid December. Other important events to celebrate before Christmas!  
 
Our outside lights will turn on soon however.  
 
Last year Our tree went up Dec.22. That was a little late haha

outside lights go on Nov 12, house decorations anytime after Dec 1.  
Since we get a live tree, it goes up the weekend before Xmas. Tree goes down Jan 2, marking the end of the Xmas season for our family.  

We will decorate November 28th, it's pretty much the only time we will have to decorate this year.

Everything will be up tomorrow. I'll likely do the yard in a week or so.

Was probably just an expression of incredulity at putting up a tree so early, I agree, I put up the tree on Christmas eve.

up most of my yard decoration yesterday. Will finish when someone is around to watch me climb a ladder. I'm slightly accident prone and know better than to do it when I'm all alone! HA!  
 
As for the house it will be any time after the 25. I used to be Nov 11/12 but my SO hates seeing it that long so I compromised and wait the extra 2 weeks. But come to think of it I have some stuff I could start making!

Do the Christmas lights outdoors the day after Halloween to avoid doing it when it is too cold. Turn them on after the 11th.  
 
I used to put up Christmas decorations indoor about the last week of November, but I find they get so covered in dust if you put them up too early, so I now wait until we get our real tree, usually the first weekend in Dec(so about the 5th this year)  
 
True freaky story - My mother puts her tree up Nov 1. She leaves it up, leaves the lights on but takes the Christmas decorations down and covers it with hearts and red things for Valentines. One year she tried to change it to Shamrocks and the rest of the family had had enough and made her take it down.  
 
I think there comes a time when there is too much of a good thing. Less is more and appreciate the little things....my new mantra.

they have decorated for Christmas. It was nice coming into work last night to see it. We have Christmas parties starting up soon, so we like to have things decorated ahead of time.

I was just wondering when do real trees go on sale and does anyone know how much they usually are? my family and I are looking into buying a real tree this year.. thanks in advance

I will be putting the outside lights up this weekend but not turning them on until 1 December. I don't particularly feel like being out side in a [I] brisk [I] Manitoba winter lol. My Nativity set and the tree will be going up on 1 December though and coming down on (hopefully) boxing day or shortly there after.
