I saw on Landmark Cinemas that Sunday is Kid's Day and there's a deal on for kids under 12. I have a 3 year old who loves Kung Fu Panda but we're not sure about bringing him to a movie yet.  
So I was just wondering what age people start bringing their kids to see movies at the theatre?  
 

Our girls were 9 before they went to the theatre.

Just depends on the child. My kids were never interested in sitting through an entire movie at 3 years old. We tried here at home, and they always would get bored or distracted part way through. I've never had my younger 2 at the movie theatre, but my older 2 were in grade school before they got to go to the theatre.

If your child can sit through a movie take them. If they can't sit still and make an unnecessary amount of noise then don't take them. We have been taking our kiddo since she was like 2. She loves the big theatre with big seats and big popcorn. We now sit on the isle seat though as she tends to like to take several bathroom brakes as of late. We pretty much go to every kid movie that comes out since she likes it so much.

My first one was 3, second one was 2. They did great. As long as your child is able to sit thru a movie, and be quiet, any time is good.

Luckily we have a small theatre in our town so it's easy and cheap to test to see if my son could handle a movie. He started at 2.5 years and did ok till almost the end when we left early. I took him to a movie in Brandon at 3.5 and he did pretty good, luckily we were the only ones in the theatre so I was able to turn down volume as it was too loud for him. I have to bring snacks and only do matinee movies. He loves seeing the big tv haha.

i took my child at 3 but he didnt sit the whole movie, we did sit on the isle and i did let him quietly walk up and down the stairs, we went in the day time to a childs movie so i dont think it bothered the few other families there  
 
up to you if you want to spend the money on it tho, nice to get out but also at that age the dvd watched over and over is good too

I took all my kids to kids movies at age 2-3. I was prepared to leave the movie if they could not handle it. Ive never had to leave. I did with my youngest have to carry him the entire time though, not because he was acting up but I think it can be a little overwhelming for his quiet disposition. We also always have drinks and snacks. People are generally very forgiving in kids movies, unlike the other thread lol.

The theatre does have a room for kids around that age. its off to the left by theatre 4. Just have to ask I don't have kids I've just read about it.

It will obviously depend on the child and what you think they can handle but I think anywhere from 2-3 years of age is common. The volume might be too loud for some so maybe consider bringing earplugs?  
 
Have fun!! Anytime a daycare child of mine has gone to the movies, they always excitedly talk about it for weeks after

Our youngest is 2 (will be 3 in april) & we have taken him to a couple movies already. he did fairly well except the second one he got restless at the last 20 mins- half hour and i took him out. but for the most part he was good. our daughter was 3 when she went to her first movie. I think he will be fine.

I took my daughter to Hop in Winnipeg when she was 2. She sat on my knee and cuddle the whole movie.
