Hi  
Are there any options out there, other than Shaw/Bell/WCG/MTS/etc., to watch new TV shows? We are currently with Shaw Direct and I'm tired of the poor service and high cost for their products.  
 
I realize that there is Netflix/Shomi/Crave and others, but their content is not new (unless it is their own shows). I would like to watch new episodes of Walking Dead or Big Band Theory within a week of them being on air. I would really prefer to have legal choices too.

I have the apps for both these networks and they update them daily. Shows are available to watch the morning after they air. So if the shows you want to watch happen to be carried by one of these Canadian channels, it's definitely worth it! It's the only way I keep up with some shows since I don't have cable.

As Sally was saying there is globaltv.ca, ctv.ca, also there is citytv.com. You can usually watch the new episode for free until a week after the new episode aired when it locks for members only. But if you go on every week you can watch your whole season.

Thanks for the suggestions. From what I can tell from looking at the members only part, it asks you who your TV provider is. Is there an option for not having a TV provider?

If you have android device, you can download a free app called CipherTV2 or 0-IPTV. (Google play store). I mostly use it to watch retro shows and movies, (Antenna-TV and MeTV are great channels for old shows)...but also CTV and CBC channels in HD for my news, Big Bang Theory and Flash, etc.  
 
It's legal and free. (live TV with commercials)  
I watch new shows on it, and mirror it to my bigscreen using Chromecast unit ($40).  
 
It's a perfect stream in 1080p. No buffer or lag. Almost like Netflix quality.
