Is Disability Lying to Me?
7/30/2010 at 11:55 AM
In 2008 I was forced onto disability for my depression by my doctor and family. (I don't want disability because I don't want to live) All I did was go to the provincial bldg. for a meeting. I never applied for any special programs or anything. So i didnt pay much attention to the initial cheques I received which were the main cheque, a $30 cheque, and a $170 cheque which only came for the first few months.
As I stated I was forced onto disability and in reality i didn't want to live so I took no care when it came to cheque stubs. When the $170 cheque stopped arriving I started inquiring (after being pushed to) with both my brandon worker and the main office in winnipeg. Since I had no cheque stubs I could only tell the workers the dollar amount and not where the cheque was from. And so, the response from disability was that they have no record of ever giving me a cheque for around $170 and had no idea what I was talking about. I brought this up at the CAP unit and the social worker never made any progress either. My doctor stated that sometimes they give allowances for furniture, but if that was the case there should be a record of it.
PLEASE does anyone know what this cheque was? Is Disability lying to me because I have been deemed "unworthy" of this extra cheque? What is going on it is like the government is telling me I just hallucinated getting a $170 cheque for 3 months.
This is one of many reasons the govt. has done much more to exasperate my depression rather than help it.
