So I know many people have had talks on here.. but curious... I’m freshly some what new to this single life.. how do people meet others without going on dating apps?! I’m curious.. society has turned to dating apps to meet people and I’m a bit old school...

I don't own a cell phone so I can't vouch for apps like Tinder etc. I have tried web sites like Plenty Of Fish, OK Cupid, etc. and... nada. Back when video dating was the trendy thing I tried that too and spent considerable money for zero return. In my younger years I was the outcast in school, so was never considered as a dating prospect. If meeting people through work connections is how people meet potential dates, then I don't have very much hope now because I don't speak Spanish, Chinese,Punjabi, Ukrainian either. Just saying that meeting people when you were young and single is no easier than 40 years later either.

You should go to some of the meetups! I went to the original meetup when it started a few years back and I ended up meeting my now best friend there! I am very passionate about art, culture and literature and she was the same way! I was really lucky to have met her  
 
I will definitely be going to some of the activities in the near future! And I'm hoping to plan some of my own outings for the art lovers out there!!!

are these Meetups that you are referring to? What date and time are they held?

If you are a member of Facebook there is a group called Brandon Area Singles! It's for anyone looking to meet new people and have a great time! They've organized board game nights and bowling nights recently and I'm sure there will be some amazing events to come in the future!  
 
I understand that not everyone has Facebook so hopefully people can let others' know about possible upcoming events!

Come out to our dances! The Forever Young Club has dances every month with classic rock music.  
It is open to everyone, single or not.  
It is a great place to socialize and meet people.  
Our next dance is October 6 at the Park Ave Activity Center 8 to midnight.

Do you have a Facebook page or somewhere that you post locationa and dates for the dances? I love to dance and classic rock is my favourite,. I am also single... 63 years youngs with lots of energy.

Not seeing a listing for any date, and definitely not Nov 9. I found a Prairie Social Club dance Oct 27 but no Forever Young dances anywhere. Am I missing something??

Just putting my two cents worth in here. I went to a couple of single meets a couple of years ago - started here on E-Brandon - there were people of all ages there. I was the oldest. I noticed the younger people huddled together and me being the oldest was left on the sidelines trying to have a conversation with anyone - but it became very evident that being older (retired or around that age) wouldn't work in this group setting. So when someone says there retired believe me, unless there are people of similar ages - you will be left out. That's just my experience.

Retirement is something that I will never be able to enjoy (not unless taking up residence in a cardboard box in a back lane is a viable living option) The pension plan where I work (UFCW 832) will pay out approx $1,800 annually/~$150 per month. I can never foresee myself having retiree status. Any singles looking for a Sugar Daddy to support them, sorry but it ain't gonna be me.
