Affairs during marriage

There was a discussion last week about a woman who after 25 years of marriage had a crush on someone. And she got a lot of people saying to suck it up and a few people who told her to go for it and be happy. Has there are any e-brandoners that have been in that situation and what happened - was it happy ever after or not?
Morals and ethics aside - did anyone ever go for it and have a happy ending? Did you feel guilty?
How did you handle it?
