I'm new to all of this and was just wondering if anybody could give me quotes/ideas/suggestions. Our ceremony and reception will be as low maintenance as possible. We would want to get married roughly 30 minutes out of town on a family members property. Cost to rent table/chairs/tent? Possibly a bus to transport people to and from.. Nothing's set in stone.. Trying to think of cost friendly ideas and a way to involve family and friends without hurting our pocket or theirs. There would be about 50 people attending.

Not sure where you could rent tables & chairs....maybe try community clubs. Do you have a rain alternative ..or is it indoors ? That could make a difference for table renting I would think. Some may only want tables & chairs used indoors.  
As far as transportation goes...sorry no clue..  
 

Party Professionals and Black Tie Events both rent chairs, dishes, etc.  
 
For a tent try Tent Events.  
 
For transport try Triple Crown Limousine - they have a... thing, not a bus but a big SUV?  
 
FYI... my friend had a "low maintence" wedding. I never worked hard as a bridesmaid to get everything set up and ready compared to any other wedding I've been in. Unless you're hiring a planner, you need to consider who's going to be doing all the work.

Are not economical.. While beautiful, they are very costly. Tents aren't cheap. Plus you have to rent tables, chairs, dance floor, outdoor toilets, power equipment, side tent for caterer, lighting, etc. The list goes on. Be sure to price out everything you need, and compare it to renting a Hall in town.

Has tents, tables, chairs. Look them up on Facebook. Jenna is amazing to work with! Used her for my wedding this past fall and I can't praise her enough. She has various sizes of tents so you won't pay for a huge one that you won't fill up...

We did our wedding 30mins out of Brandon last summer we rented the tent, tables, chairs and dance floor from http://www.knightrentals.ca/ they have lots of other rentals as well. We used Old style butcher shop for the meal, they cook on location and bring everything needed to make and serve the meal. Chicken was $13.95 and steak was $15.95 tax and sides included it was amazing food and service. We got décor done by Black tie very reasonable and we had them to decorate and tear down was worth paying to not have to do it ourselves. We rented a bathroom trailer from V.I.P. Portables they were nicer then our bathrooms in the house oddly got a lot of complements on the bathrooms. As for transportation we looked into it and it was expensive no matter who we looked at so we didn't end up using any.

For things to be cost-friendly, try thinking outside the box a bit too.  
 
Dinners are expensive no matter what. Maybe getting married in the morning is a good plan? Then have a brunch instead of dinner- usually less per person, and have champagne/mimosas instead of a bar.  
 
Get married in the off-season (Januaryish), sometimes you will get a discount.  
 
If the 50 people are all people you're relatively close to, forgo the wedding gifts and do a potluck. Have a hoedown.

Thank you guys for the information. All is good to know. These are just ideas I've thrown out there. I feel like a wedding is going to be expensive no matter whichever way you spin it unless you're going down to the court house. I'm a really low maintenance person but I still want a day where I walk down an aisle and wear a dress no matter what. There is just no way I could ever justify having my wedding cost the same amount as a small down payment on a house or a purchase of a new car!! Any other suggestions are welcomed of course! Thank you thank you!

We did burgers, cold salads. That way it was a per plate cost. And had a family friend bbq the burgers for us. Super easy. We fed 200 people for about $500 including dessert.
