I moved to Brandon recently and am somewhat new to it. I was wondering if anyone knew any place to really meet people.  
I'm still young but never really been into the bar scene too much.

Don't do POF unless you are wanting a FWB, casual encounter, or one night stand. I have also been told that if a man wants to pay, he can get anything. It's not a dating site anymore

Yeah I've tried internet dating and those sites are generally bad for actual relationships

Being a college student at ACC, I actually managed to strike up a few conversations with some people in the lunch lineup. Usually starts with the "What Program are you taking?" THEN the handshake and "My name is <:name>:". Having new friends is also a good thing as well, especially if you keep running into them in the cafe/hallway everyday.

Think some of you should realize how lucky we are to be single. Do you know how many of my married friends have said how jealous they are of me to have a quiet night alone with a good book and bubble bath?!  
 
We don't have to answer to anyone and all the money we make goes to us and us only.

My best years have been single. I don't want to discourage anyone from being married. There are definitely struggles being single and being married. I haven't met the right guy but I'm not looking right now either. I'm quite happy where I am. Make the most of where you are. Be happy in the present.

Meeting decent single men in town is hard as well.. so dont feel bad lol and i agree.. as a female on pof its not worth it..

Looks use to be a priority for me but after several failed relationships, I have learned from my past mistakes.. Looks aren't as important to me as they once were. I'm very outdoorsy, mid 30s, slightly overweight but workout and exercise regularly, don't have too many friends but I'm always up for anything... If your between 26 and 37.. Roughly decent shape, are up for anything and love the outdoors (hunting, fishing, quadding, camping, sledding, hiking, swimming, Bon fires, walking) and have a vehicle.. Shoot me a message/pm me.. I'd love to chat with you... At the same time, if you don't/can't make time to date, or if high maintanance, anger/controlling issues or just wants a baby daddy, please don't message me.. I'm on pof and am not looking for any of the things you mentioned. I consider myself a decent guy, good morals, don't drink, smoke or do drugs. Don't sleep around either, and not looking for someone that does. Heck, I haven't had a date in 5+ years.  
So why am I still on pof? Because I know there will always be decent people on it or trying it. There are probably a lot of people trying it that don't frequent bars. Maybe on day I will see someone decent that will actually respond when messaged.  
However I'm not really that active on it and seldom ever message anyone. When I do they typically don't reply.  
 
my point is: even if there are a lot of fake accounts and douches on there there are also decent guys on there. Those decent guys might not sent you the most interesting first message as they most likely don't have the practice in sending messages that gets the most responses.

I have rarely received a response to messages on POF. It seems the ones I am interested in aren''t interested in me and the ones that are interested in me aren''t the ones we I am interested in. I am not picky but I know what I want. Some guys go after anything and everything and give the rest of us a bad rap.

I'm not really seeking a connection through ebrandon. This site is not set up for that, there are no profile pictures and no information on any of the profiles. I find it extremely difficult to have a conversation where the only thing I know about the other person is that they exist. I have no problem having a conversation but it will remain void of emotion and attachments, simply because I have no idea who I'm talking to.  
I think the proper way to seek a online connection is on a site designed for the purpose and post a picture and give a brief des:cription about themselves. If someone on pof sends me a message and they have no info in their profile and no picture, I will engage in conversation but I will not form a connection as don't know anything about them. Nor will I ask for a picture, if they are serious they will provide it.  
As far as anyone reaching out to me, there have been 2 attempts. The first one, was more of a one sided conversation, in which there seemed to be a lack of interest, and they didn't give me anything to respond to. And the second, I only saw their message a couple days after they messaged me, I responded but they never responded back. I'm guessing their probably way older than me too, again no profile information, and I don't find it proper to ask.  
Ebrandon just isn't set up for this.
