I have been single for 3 years.. in no rush to make the wrong mistake again... its good to have that time alone to know that you DONT need a man to survive and to know what it is that you really want in a relationship. When it is meant to happen.. it will..

It seems to me that sometimes people just want to meet someone for a relationship...which means expectations...I usually just talk to people and if a friendship comes out awesome if not you could have made someone''''s day better by acknowledging them

Your post made me laugh. There are some people that are not satisfied (men and women). I am a female in my late 40's and have found that some men in my age group are very set in their ways and aren't really willing to budge. Although I am sure there are women out there that are the same. I think that I am still young and want to try new things and be adventurous (to some degree )  
I prefer not being around drinking and in Manitoba that is not normal.....so I am instantly on a short list of options.

Everyone's idea of a decent person varies from person to person so it's hard to say really what each person considers a decent person. I'm 27, single, have a good steady job, I'm a quiet but passionate person that likes to have fun and travel. I love to work with animals and I spend a lot of my excess time helping out on my parents farm. I'd like to think I'm a nice, easy going guy who can be stubborn but I'm always open to everyone's opinion on things. I have flaws just like everyone else but I'm always working to make myself a better man. So do those qualities make me a decent man? Hard to say unless you give someone a chance. If someone wants to talk I'm always open, just throw me a message. Much more to me but not enough room here to explain it lol. But finding out is part of the fun meeting someone new.

It is too broad and general to categorize all men (or women) as not decent people. It may just be bad luck or bad judgment on the type of men you have encountered.  
 
There are lots of great single women and men in Brandon and surrounding area. A lot of them are busy with their careers, family, hobbies and personal interests. Sometimes it is hard to find these people because they are not out in busy social settings a lot.  
 
I have heard a lot of people ask where all the good single people are. But we are here!  
Personally, I have focused on my education and career for the last 5 years and do not go out every weekend. I prefer a quieter lifestyle, spending time with family and friends, my dog and some other hobbies in my spare time.  
 
Unfortunately for me, it is hard to meet a man when my social outings mostly revolve around work or family. But I believe that things happen in their own way.  
 
So for all the single people out there, trust that there are good people out there for you but that you may have to be patient and not expect them to be standing in front of you. You may have to consider different social settings, different groups of people or join new things. It may take time and effort but anything worth having is worth working (and waiting for).

I find dating pretty frustrating. You meet a girl on a dating site, go on a date or two and think its going really well - but it can turn around so quick. In all my recent dating experiences in the last year or so, after hanging out a few times I've found out she only wants to be friends. Well what's the point in trying when you only get friendzoned? Women say they want a nice guy who's loyal and genuine and all that jazz, but when you are that way they don't want to have anything serious with you. Must just be my luck I guess?
