Date nights
12/5/2016 at 8:21 PM
I like all kinds of dates, with the right person, watching paint dry can be fun. I've had some very bad, short dates, many fantastic, and mostly had fun no matter the season. I'll list some date ideas I enjoyed when I was "in the market".
Winter
-Ice Skating- I'm a terrible at it but it's fun.
-Snowmobiling, followed by hot chocolate, smokies or steak and perogies cooked over a bonfire. (A plan ahead picnic).
-Walking through the "Waterfall of lights" (back in the day).
-Bowling, pizza and fun beverages
-Shoot some pool, play darts at a pub
-Swim at the YMCA or Sportsplex
-Tobaganning, ice fishing, walk the brandon hills trails- especially beautiful when the trees are all covered in frost.
-If you are "further along" in the relationship, go overnight to the "Brandon Hills Cabins"- great cute cabins with fire places, indoor hot tubs, BBQ's, trails etc... They're fun in any season- small lake to paddle out onto.
-Take dance classes.
-Karaoke
-Take a cooking, art, pottery or massage therapy couples class.
-One of my faves was to pretend my house was a restaurant/hotel. You can do this whether you're in a bachelor apartment or a three-story house: I'd make a menu with several choices on it for apps, entree and dessert, (having all choices pretty much ready to go- much prep work but fun). I'd decorate the dining area with white xmas lights and try my best to have seasonal decor out: ex: xmas stuff for xmas, fall theme for fall etc... (I'm a blue collar guy and not the best decorator-at least I tried). Candles, dim lights, soft music, put on a "cooking show" for my date as I cooked. (A very corny and lame show but we'd always laugh).
The rest of the "hotel" would have a dance floor area, a hot tub area (just a regular tub with candles n bubbles n flowers n all that good stuff).
A movie viewing area, for snuggling up watching something funny, and then a candle lit -ahem- "sleeping area".
-Or just go for coffee and dessert. Coffee Culture or Forbidden Flavours.
Hope some of these ideas helped. Gotta run. Ideas for spring/summer/fall i can post later...
