I have heard a few good news stories in the past 7 yrs but I have recently come across this website which gives a pretty good overview of why Canada is in Afghanistan and what we have done their over the past 7 yrs.

Yes there is a reason, Yes it is a good one and Yes it is worth it. We aren't trying to IMPOSE democracy on them, but we are trying to give their citizens the same rights and freedoms that all people deserve. One story that always sticks with me is that little girls in Afghanistan are often the target of 'acid attacks', where acid is thrown in their eyes, burning and blinding them severely, just for trying to go to school.... Hats off to the Canadian soldiers who are forced to "speak the same language" as the terrorists that believe this is their ticket to the afterlife.
