Just wondering where I could drop off used clothing donations. Drove up to the movie theatre and the donation bins are no longer there. I'd like to donate to somewhere that will not sell the clothes for profit. Reading old threads on here it turns out that the bins at the theatre were all going to value village, which I had no idea of until now! Are there any drop off bins in the city that will not go to value village?

at the northeast corner of 34th and Victoria but you need to drive along a back lane to get to them. I think they say Diabetes on the bins but not 100% sure - where they go from the bins - I have no idea.

The Red bins are owned by Diabetes Association. I believe they do sell it to Value Village who pays them for the clothing. (if you drop off direct at Value Village I'm not sure Diabetes profits at all). You can check out the Diabetes website for info (and I've called the number on the bins with a question and it was answered by the Diabetes assoc.

There is a bin at the mac store on park and 1st.

why not drop off at the mennonite store on pacific or the hospital store by superstore , diabetes is a good cause but most of the cash stays with the owners of value village. both the hospital store and the mennonite store provide more money for charitable purposes

There is the Nearly New thrift store also...the money stays in Brandon and goes toward buying medical equipment for the hospital...

The homeless shelter or the soup kitchen. They work directly with the people who are in the most need for any kind of help.

All monies raised by nearly new go to the hospital. If you drive to the back of their building and ring the bell during business hours Monday to Saturday, I’m sure they’d appreciate it!

Had this conversation with a co-worker who recommended taking donations to Samaritan House because they do outreach with many of the local non-profits.  
Elspeth Reid is another good one as well.
