Someone got a DUI in my vehicle. I didn't know they drove it. It is now impounded for 60 days. They say I can do a hearing for $105 to get it possibly out. Just wondering if anyone has had this happen and there outcome.

i think if you charge them with grand theft auto, u can get it back, not positive but ask about it.

I had a vehicle impounded, similar situation though not a dui. So you take the impound notice to the courthouse, pay$100 and they’ll give you a court date to come back. I think it was about a week later for me.  
 
It was in the same place you’d pay a ticket, in a little room with a Justice of the Peace. If they approve you getting your car out, they will send you a cheque for the $100.  
 
Then of course you’ll still have to pay the tow fee, impound fees up to that point, plus an administration fee, but it’ll still be cheaper than 60 days of impound.

Pretty sure unless the vehicle was reported stolen and the driver charged with that, your only options are what was said above or waiting out the impound.  
 
I would also be looking at person who got the dui in your vehicle to pay to get it out. Why should that be on you? Just another way to look at it.

As the R/O of the vehicle impounded, the police should have given you a copy of the impound notice. Check the back of that form and everything will be explained on how and when. Also consider have them charged with "take auto without owners consent". It would help your case. Also, don't delay. Impound fee's at the tow yard are crazy expensive.  
 
Steveo...we don't have a charge of grand theft auto in Canada
