What are everyone’s experiences with this? Which hotel did you choose and why? Just looking into where would be the best place to book for a kids birthday party.

The clarion is great. We got a private room for cake and presents and the use of the pool. It wasn’t overly expensive either.

Clarion told us they didn’t do parties so we went to Best Western & they were very good to us, the pool doesn’t have a shallow side though so we swam with the kids & used floaty toys

Reminds me of the time we took our kids to the then royal oak inn for the same thing. All was great until a small kid accidentally took a dump in the pool! It was like the pool scene from caddyshack!!! Made me laugh when I read this discussion.

I’ve rented a pool side room and had it there. Friends/family came by throughout evening. There’s tables and everything

They do not have Birthday Parties at Trails West Inn. It is against Government of Manitoba pool use policy to have private places host pool parties unless there is a licensed lifeguard on duty or ALL of the guests are registered guests of the hotel (can you register 20 people in a room for 4? NO!). So, they no longer host pool parties there to remain in compliance with government regulations. Check it out yourself. the regulations are online.

We had a pool party in August at clarion, rented a pool side room, lots of table space available. They supplied us with 12 swim bands for the kids. Not sure why the clarion would tell you they don’t have pool parties??  
Also, I’ve never heard that it is against Government policy to have private places host pool parties, but I know for a fact that this is not enforced by most places in Brandon as we have had and attended many pool parties recently.

We had ours st the Victoria Inn. They don’t have a kiddie pool, but it’s fine for older kids. Only problem was that it was a long weekend, so literally every other poolside room was a birthday party or gathering of some sort. It was quite busy. Choose your date wisely.

The Vic inn would be nice! You could get a poolside guest room or a Hospitality room that has a kitchenette and they'll set up tables and chairs, etc. for whatever you want! Been there plenty of times! Love it!
