Why do i pay the same price for a takeout coffee when i use my own insulated cup as the next person who receives theirs in a plastic topped cardboard cup.  
Mine is reusable, doesn't add to the garbage and doesn't pollute.  
It has to be cheaper for the store to refill these than their own cups with their logo on them.  
The companies all talk big "reduce waste" but provide no incentive for people to do it.  
Maybe a 20 cents off a cup of coffee would be a start.

If you are meaning at a drive thru, That would be bad if they used everyone's own cups. If that were done they could not have the coffee already mixed and in the cup as you get to the window. They would need you to get to the front of the line , take your cup, fill it, mix with your cream and sugar. That would slow things down.  
 
If you are trying to save money your best option is to make your own coffee at home.

hard to take coffee from home when i am on the road anywhere from 4-10 days in a row.  
Or if we are in Brandon for the day and leaving to go home.  
I think the coffee would be cold by then.

Pretty sure that both Starbucks & Tims offer a 10 cent discount when you use your own cup. You just have to watch that they punch it in because 99% of the time, out of habit, it will get entered as a regular cup. Not sure about McDs.  
 
Or do what I do... 7-eleven does 50 cent coffee when you use your own cup. Get a rewards card & every 7th cup is free.

I always get more coffee than what I pay for.

I think it is incredibly unsanitary to take your used cup from your dirty cup holder and pass it into clean restaurant .That cup might not have been washed.I am glad I read this article I might never drink coffee anywhere but home again.Thanks.

Are people saying your supposed to wash your coffee mug, if that’s so it might explain some things I’ve been wondering about my coffee, next thing they are going to tell me is I’ve got to wash my tea cup.

Geez, maybe next time ya head outside make sure you're wrapped up in a airtight bubble. Yah don't wanna catch anything ya know. Make sure you do not touch any shopping carts, door handles to any stores or similar to those things. Always wear a dust mask from people breathing near you.  
 
Get out and experience the world man, it's not as scary as you would believe.

It cost me MORE to get my soda in my reusable cup today at 7-11 then it would have cost me if I would have used the plastic cup, lid and straw they provide.  
 
It should not cost me MORE to be environmentally friendly!  
 
Shame on you 7-11. That’s why I only shop there twice a year!
