My family of four and I are looking for new places to go camping. We tent so we don't need electricity or anything like that. Looking for for fairly close to Brandon (no more than 3 hours travel preferably), quiet and not so friendly wildlife(meaning they weren't afraid to walk on up to our table while we were having supper and wouldn't leave). Had this happen in Kiche Manitou with raccoons. Freaked the kids out pretty good. Trying to avoid that again.

Head up to the ducks. Blue lake is a great campground. Right around a 3hr drive. Others that come to mind are Adam's lake, lake metigoshe canadian or American side , William's lake, rainbow beach up near ochre river(dauphin region). Others close to home are minnedosa, neepawa has a nice little lions campground tho almost right in town. Aspen grove is a child friendly place however the miniature golf course has been destroyed by their "renovations" a few years back, they re did the course and it's so bump and uneven its like playing on a gravel road ball bounces everywhere, also the pool claims to be heated but it is ice cold. The lake water at public beaches is much warmer.

If you are tenting, and like quiet....go to Lakeview Bay. No electricity or water hook ups, pit toilets, no showers (but you can drive back to the main campsite and use the showers there). It is quiet and serene, and any time I have camped there, it was far from full.

Peace gardens have a campground. And you can walk enjoy the beautiful flowers, etc.

Where have you camped already?  
 
Erickson has a nice, quiet campground where you can tent. It’s a FCFS kinda thing and you just leave the money in the drop box. It has washrooms/showers and a playground for the kids. It’s close enough to go into clear lake if you want.  
 
Or even camping in the park (RMNP) would be an option. Moon lake and lake Audy are nice for example

And rivers are 2 of our favs. We also like Adams lake.  
 
I avoid the commercial type of campgrounds like clear lake, oak lake, Souris etc as I feel like they’re too busy and more touristy.

in Sidney is not to far and has affordable camping. There is a pool for the kids and lots of quiet areas to set up a tent!

Neepawa is close. They have a great swimming pool, & excellent washroom & shoes facilities. If your kids are younger, there is a playground . Firewood is very reasonable price.

We were in Neepawa last week. It's a beautiful campground, and the tenting area at the back (beside the river) is beautiful with grass and big shade trees. We were in the front part with a tent and a tent trailer, and even there (much closer to hwy 16) it was very quiet. I highly recommend it there.  
 
You might want to call about availability, however, as it does seem to be quite busy, at least in the front part. The pool and playground are a short walk, and the pool is very reasonably priced IMO and very, very nice. You can also fish in the river right there, and Lake Irwin is only a hop-skip-jump away. There's so much to do in Neepawa!  
 
We also camped in Aspen Grove for the first time this year. It was solid, the kids enjoyed it. Yes, the pool is heated but only at night. The kids LOVED the mini golf. But it's better for trailer than tenting. If I were in a tent only, I would pick Neepawa over Aspen Grove.

William Lake is a good spot if you haven't been there. None of the sites have power, so it's quiet generally. Adam Lake is a short distance away with the nice beach and play structure, although the beach at William is so-so. We've also camped at and enjoyed Assissippi and Spruce Woods, and yes the raccoons are a problem at Kitche Manitou sometimes! LOL
