First of all I am not upset with Canada Post workers as I am sure they are working hard as front line workers. It is Canada Post itself that have not adjusted for the amount of parcels that are sent across the country. There used to be a deadline in December when Canada Post would guarantee delivery of a parcel by Christmas. Not so now. Everything is delayed and things ordered from Winnipeg to Brandon in November just came in January 6. This is the same with all parcels that are delayed when you track them.  
 
Yes buy local and will not have this issue. I know this but that is not the purpose of this.  
 
Time Canada Post looked at Purolator and Fedex to see what they have done to maintain their deadlines during the same Coved times.

If you are not upset then nothing to worry about you will get your parcel.

Purolator is owned by Canada Post but Purolator does something differently than CP.  
 
99.99% of the time Purolator gets packages to me on time or EARLY which CP can't even wrap their mind around.  
 
In CP's defense, they do any and everything for products to be mailed. Purolator is parcels only, technically. I had amazon demote CP to the absolute last resort for shipping and prefer any other carrier due to speed, consistency and package security issues with CP.

Canada post is by far the best option. Yes there has been delays over the holiday period that may not have been helped by sickness (we’re in a pandemic folks) . Purolator either dumps the parcel on your doorstep without so much as a ring on the door bell or holds the parcel at our local depot which has inconvenient opening hours. I’ll take Canada post anytime, most reliable courier by far.

Yes I was aware that more employees were hired which is normal. However, the month or more to get a parcel from Canada is not acceptable to me.

Seeing as how we're in code red, everyone has had to order their gifts online rather than brave the stores for essentials. Our post office was swamped with parcels over the holidays as I'm sure many were. I'm not saying that's your fault for waiting. It's just something we're all dealing with. Unacceptable or not, that's just something we're going to have to get used to as long as Covid ravages the world. I only just received a belated Christmas card from overseas. But I'm not complaining.

If couriers operating during covid aren't up to your satisfaction then I suppose your only other option would be to pickup your items in person and drive them home yourself.

FedEx is not one to look to for advice. Living with a rural address, they are the most painfull to deal with. you can not divert a parcel to a urban address. They do not call the phone number on the parcel. FedEx lets it sit for days then ships it back to the shipper to let them sort it out with you. I have dealt with this on every parcel sent to me via FedEx. I try to be proactive find out from the shipper what courier the use to set delivery address accordingly, but sometimes (like the parcel I am currently waiting for via FedEx) you can't.

that is funny. you pick it up your self. when you do not like the parcel service. hahahaha, what is when it was shipped outside from Canada? hihihihi, that makes my day, hihihihi.

I would like to know if Express Post is Canada Post and that is where my parcel will go. Or is there pickup sites in Brandon that I can go check at?

There are lots of good ones. Shipping logistics is a really complex business. I ordered items the last week of December, shipped with Canada Post, that got here first week of January. Meanwhile others are just receiving items ordered late November.  
 
It isn't first in, first out. There are many factors to why an item arrives when it does.  
 
I've had horrendous experiences consistently with purolator. In fact, the only time anything arrives on time with purolator is when they subcontract the delivery.  
 
Everyone's mileage will vary. Saying Canada Post should look to purolator is an oversimplification. Purolator is nowhere near the same operation that Canada Post is. While it's majority owned by Canada Post, they are apples and oranges.  
 
Canada Post has a lot of business challenges. For the first 3 quarters of 2020, despite record parcel volumes, they were facing a $700 million dollar loss.

I mailed a t shirt in a $2.29 thin envelope. Cheapest one at the time. Mailed it from Brandon to Shilo. They charged me $15 which is a dollar more than the t shirt inside the envelope which still hasn’t arrived in Shilo after 5 days. I could have driven it to Shilo for $5 with today’s gas prices but I chose stupidity and chose CP. After sitting at home for 15 minutes thinking about it I decided to go back to the corner store and offered to pay for the envelope if I could have it back and I would deliver it in person. The CP clerk said it was too late she said she didn’t have it anymore I had gone out. The mail there goes out at 5 pm normally as listed on the mailbox outside. It was 3:30 pm. Never again. Lesson learned.
