Hi , I have a little dilema in trying to give away a 100 year old upright piano that both looks and plays beautiful. It is listed right here on eBrandon (search free piano) if there is some one who could help. We have reached out to every charity we could think of, this was my Mom`s piano and has been in our family for like over 70 years. I am now in a time crunch as it has to be removed from the home by Tuesday, and it is going to break my heart if I have to pay someone to take it to the dump. So could someone please take my piano, and give it a good home ?

Hi, I’m sorry about your situation. Just a thought, since it has so much sentimental value. Would you be able to store it until you can find someone to take the piano apart and make new pieces out of them that you can have in your home to remind you of your mom? Lots of people repurpose pianos to make shelves or decorations with the keys and stuff. Just a thought!

As lovely as your piano probably is, you'll be hard pressed to find someone to take a 100 year old piano. Like houses and people, after 100 years even the best-kept pianos will show their age and can be costly to maintain.  
 
Plus, most people don't want/own acoustic pianos anymore. Even newer ones can get expensive to tune etc on a regular basis. An older piano might need new felts, new pins or other repair work. Only hardcore piano players would be interested in that, as a novice can buy a digital for far less money and then never need to maintain it.  
 
I hope you find it a home, but be prepared that you won't. Like the suggestion above, maybe you can find a place to store it. It might make more sense to dismantle it and make keepsakes from it or repurpose it into furniture.

I've seen pianos in pretty crazy places. Never underestimate what a good piano mover can do!

No way could I move it myself or think to ask anyone else to do such a huge backbreaking task. Not to mention the cost of hiring someone.

They come apart fairly easily if you can find someone who knows what they are doing. When ours was unloaded from our shipping container the movers removed a lot of the panels to reduce the weight. It just slid apart with no tools needed and they moved it quite easily after that before reassembling it in its final place.

I certainly appreciate all the kind words. Contrary to some the piano plays really well and was never abused. It has been loved for decades, simply just needs a new place to stay folks. Thanks again for the suggestions and good wishes !

Didn't Creasy Piano used to take old pianos and refurbish them? Not sure if he's still around, but maybe worth checking piano tuners.

I would talk to your piano tuner and get their advice.  
Sadly no one really wants these big upright pianos. Too cumbersome and people won’t pay to move it.

I don't see too much sentimentality placed on the piano when it is destined for the dump. Pieces? I don't think so. Keep it intact - wrap some rope around it and gift it as a necklace.

Bring it to ReStore. They took our old piano and eventually sold it.
