Beginner is it difficult to put a peephole in my door ?

Check out a few YouTube instructional videos to see if it's some thing you would be confortable doing.

Once you have it installed remember that anyone inside your apartment can reverse it to look in and you won't likely notice till someone is at your door.

There are decent security peepholes one can get that can't be reversed and don't let light out so folks can't tell you're at the door. Shop around. Easy to install though.

I've installed 2 peep holes in 2 homes in my life.  
The toughest part is boring/drilling the hole itself... the peeper just screwed together through that hole.  
It isn't difficult, but I have a small hole saw which makes it much easier.  
I'd recommend finding the peeper you want then making sure you have a large drill bit (preferably the same size) and it should be a breeze.

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy my sense of humour directed at RubyRed.  
Along with what I meant to be humour, was my chance to quietly make young women, students and all people for that matter, aware that while living in 'busy' apartments, there is now a new version of 20th century window peekers with cameras that they may not have thought of!! Was that so wrong?  
How about the pun, did you like that part? It was the heading.

While we're discussing peepholes, I thought I should mention that there are reverse peephole viewers available, which means RubyRed, that by installing a peephole, you have left yourself wide open for 'peepers' so: buy one with a cover or do what I did on my laptop camera: put a tiny piece of tape over it et tu peux te promener nu.  
 
Even in an old apartment with an old viewer that's reversable, a tiny piece of duct tape works.
